Ferulic acid

What is ferulic acid, and what does it do?

Ferulic acid is an antioxidant. It helps protect against sun damage, and may reduce the production of melanin (pigment) in the skin, improving the appearance of hyperpigmentation (dark patches of skin). It works well when combined with Vitamin C and Vitamin E, as it helps to stabilise these ingredients and improve sun protection.

What is ferulic acid used for?

Ferulic acid is used to improve the appearance of sun damage, dark patches of skin and hyperpigmentation, and for skin brightening.
